FINDING THE WORDS

pick the first word that comes to your mind.

open an image search engine, and input your chosen word.
select an image from the URL's returned and save it. NOTE THAT:
+the image cannot be a graphic or logo
+preferably it is a photograph, it doesn't matter if it is a gif or jpg
+record the URL of the site that the image came from
+record the word you searched
+name the images sequentially ( EX: 001ChosenWord)

open a thesaurus, or use this one Visual Thesaurus, and input your chosen word.

select one of its synonyms to use as your next word in the image search.

repeat these steps until you come to a dead end.

CREATING THE IMAGES

create a directory and call it the name of an image

open that image in photoshop

change its brightness to -110 & its contrast to 100

save into the new directory. name it 1.

increase brightness by 10

save into the new directory. name it 2.

continue to increase brightness by 10 and saving each image sequentially until the brightness is equal to 100

open the 21 images just created.

create a new blank image. place the 21 images back to back in order of descending brightness on the new image.

save this new composite image. name it ChosenWord.

change this image's height to 3px with constrained proportions ON

save as ChosenWordSM

select color in first pixel upper left corner

C + Y + M + K = x

rotate canvas x degrees clockwise

paste image segment on the end of last image segment matching dark and light portions
